Tim Barden - Board Chair, Executive Director

Co-Founder Vermont Musical Theatre University, Managing Managing director of Spotlight Vermont.

A performing arts / innovation complex for South Burlington's City Center is the abstraction of Tim Barden.

Like several others on this team, Barden got his inspirational first past working in The Champlain Shakespeare Festival in the late 1960's. His dear for musical theatre began when he met lyricist Yip Harburg (The Wizard of Oz, Finian'south Rainbow, Bloomer Girls, Cabin in the Sky) Barden'southward extensive resume as a  performer includes regional appearances equally Fredrik in "A Little Night Music", El Gallo and Bellomy in "The Fantasticks" (separated by xx years), Pontius Pilate in "Jesus Christ Superstar", Tommy in "Brigadoon, Captain Von Trapp in "The Audio of Music", Tin can Man in "The Sorcerer of OZ" Mr. Bumble in "Oliver", Max Bialystock in "The Producers" and many more He too spent 25 years as a member of the cabaret performance grouping "Encore!" actualization in New York and beyond New England. In add-on to his work as a performer he has extensive experience equally an administrator, director, designer and performing arts photographer. He is a by president of the Lyric Theatre organization.

In his other life, Barden spent over 20 years in it and direction for IBM, Depository financial institution of Boston, Computer Chore Group, Bank of Vermont, City of Burlington and the Land of Vermont. He is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at WIlliams Higher.

Jennifer Barden - Secretary / Treasurer

Director, Spotlight Vermont. Dancer/Choreographer Jennifer Barden has spent her life working in the performing arts field.  A Long Island native, Barden move to Vermont in 1987 after years of instruction and studying dance in New York to found a dance plan in Middlebury. Eventually, having purchased "Donna Antell Trip the light fantastic" in Colchester her business organization grew to what it is today at present including a performing arts education facility with a black box performance space serving over 500 students of all ages.

Her business organization has been a buoy of creative arts excellence for xxx years. Partnerships with other organizations including Bill Reed Vocalization Studio, New York Stage Originals, A Class Human action New York and other have resulted in Vermont students working and learning from top professionals in the entertainment business including, Cady Huffman (Tony - The Producers), Andrew Chappelle (Hamilton), Jeremy Holm (Business firm of Cards, Mr. Robot), Robbie Hager (Leap Awakening, Dr. Zhivago, Fun Home) to proper noun a few.

Katie Decker - Board Member at Large

Managing director - Centerpoint School

Katie Decker, MEd  currently works as Manager of Centerpoint School (South Burlington and Winooski, VT), where she will be completing her 15th school year this coming spring. Centerpoint Schoolhouse, who serves students working through emotional and behavioral challenges, has always placed an emphasis on the arts equally a vehicle for good for you cocky expression for teens.  Katie has been interested in trip the light fantastic and performance since a very young age. She studied Jazz at David DeMarie in Buffalo, NY throughout her childhood and performed in a multifariousness of local theater and musical productions. Most recently, she has taken a variety of jazz and ballet classes at Spotlight Vermont.

She really only decided she liked ballet a few years ago- and since then information technology occupies her mind and her time. In 2015, she took the lead in coordinating the Farm to Ballet Project with Chatch Pregger. This project creates opportunities for adult ballet dancers to perform and raise coin for local agronomical groups.  In the project'due south inaugural year, it received national attention from the Boston Globe, NPR and the USDA blog among others.  Virtually recently, Katie and Chatch are developing a permanent ensemble of adult ballet dancers, called Ballet Vermont- which intends to provide a path for professional ballet dancers, musicians, and composers in Vermont to collaborate and produce Vermont based original works of ballet dance.

Tom Dunn - Board Member at Large

Information Technology Architect (Ret.) - IBM.

Tom Dunn has had several careers in his life that started with xviii years of technical theatre / lighting design.  He and so worked for 7 years in various technology areas for Bank of Vermont / Bank of Boston.  Tom retired from from IBM after 21 years as a developer and information architect.

Tom's time in theatre included the opening of 2 new arts centers, i in New Jersey and one in Ohio.  He has served on several arts organization'southward boards including Lorain County Arts Quango in Ohio, the Ohio section of the USITT ( Chair ), Beginning Night Burlington, and most recently, Lyric Theatre.  Tom has many production credits as a technical managing director, lighting and set up designer, phase manager and other roles.  Oh... and he loves sailing.

Lisa Hopkins - Board Vice Chair

Producing Creative Managing director - New York Stage Originals, Faculty PACE University, Steps on Broadway.  Lisa directed & choreographed the internationally acclaimed "TAP KIDS" (winner of a five star review at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival). "Scrooge", (Off-Broadway in NYC at The Lambs Theater and Lincoln Heart's Walter Reade Theatre.) "Dream" and "SING!". Other credits include "Talkies" at the Century Center in NYC, "Murder They Danced" at Toronto's Premiere Trip the light fantastic, "1940'southward Radio Hour" at The Emelin Theater in New York. Banana to choreographer Kathleen Marshall on the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Follies"

Tim Maynes - Board Member at Big

Senior Director - Business Operations New Jersey Performing Arts Center.Tim grew up in Due south Burlington and was an agile member of Vermont'south arts community before his move to New York Urban center two years ago. He has a B.A. in Drama from Ithaca College and an M.A. in Arts Leadership from Syracuse Academy. After graduating from college, Tim dove head first into the vast arts landscape in the Burlington area, with a specific focus and passion for theater pedagogy. Tim was an English language teacher at Vergennes Matrimony Loftier Schoolhouse, the Drama Director of the South Burlington High School and FHT Middle School drama programs, and the director of many summertime theater camps for various organizations. Tim was also an agile director and actor with local theater companies, including directing Lyric Theater Visitor's productions of Peter Pan in 2010 and Oliver! in 2013. Additionally, Tim served on the Lath of Directors for Lyric Theater Company and took on a leadership office equally the chair of its Education committee.

In 2015, Tim moved to New York City to join the Instruction Department of Disney Theatrical Group on Broadway, as the Education and Outreach Coordinator earlier moving to a direction part at New Jersey Performing Arts Centre in Newark. Tim continues to have a deep connectedness with Southward Burlington and the overall theater community in the area, and he is excited to go along that connection through his piece of work with the SBCCA Board of Directors.

Andy Pearson - Board Fellow member at Big

IT Support Coordinator, South Burlington School Commune.  Andy found his showtime in technical theater as a pupil in South Burlington Schools.  Since 2002 he has been supporting their performing arts programs as technical managing director, sound engineer, and lighting designer.  While in high school, Andy was introduced to the Lyric Theatre Company and has been an active fellow member since with product credits including follow spot operator, principal electrician and more recently lighting designer.

Outside of the theater, Andy enjoys hiking, biking, and canoeing with his wife and their two dogs.

Steve Scrivens - Board Member at Large

Producer, Creative person Representative - Creative Events. Prior to his establishing Creative Events in the United States, Steve was Programming Manager for the Award Winning Majestic & Derngate Theatre in Northampton, England for 8 years. Responsible for programming beyond v different stages, Steve'south feel in programming spans all forms of Theatre, Dance, Music, Comedy and Spoken Word.

David Schraffenberger - Board Member at Large

U.S. Department of Homeland Security. -Based in Underhill, VT, Mr. Schraffenberger began his professional person career at the Champlain Shakespeare Festival in the early seventies. Since and then, he has toured with a wide variety of productions. David has been involved in lighting special events from Bangkok to Barcelona and holds Presidential Inaugural credentials for lighting inaugural events for every president from Mr. Carter to Mr. Clinton. Mr. Schraffenberger holds a Bachelor of Scientific discipline degree from Johnson State College'due south External Degree Program, Class of '07, and an MBA from Norwich University, Course of 09. Formerly the Full general Manager of Production Advantage, Inc., of Williston, VT, a dealer of quality equipment and supplies to the entertainment manufacture he is now working in the government sector. He is also a fellow member of the Board of Trustees for IATSE Local 919 and is the Past President of the Vermont/New Hampshire Marketing Group. David serves on the ESTA Lath of Directors as Dealer Managing director, ESTA Membership Informational Committee and the ESTA Business organisation Resource Group. In his spare time David enjoys horseback riding, fishing, camping, and ringing with the United Church of Underhill Bong Choir.

Philip David Stern - Board Member at Big

Composer, Executive Director New York Stage Originals. Philip has composed original music, scores and orchestrations for live theatre, motion picture, television, concert and dance.  His scores for alive theatre accept played Off-Broadway "Scrooge" (Lamb's Theatre NYC and Lincoln Centre'southward Walter Reade Theatre), toured nationally ("Scrooge", "Dream") and internationally, including the highly acclaimed testify "TAP KIDS" (winner of a 5 star review at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival).  Motion picture and television credits include multiple-Gemini award-winning series The View From Here, Human Edge and Sabbatum Night at the Movies. Freda Tutt - Board Member at Large

Operations Manager and Compliance Officeholder, Hickok & Boardman Financial Planning - Freda was born into a theater family unit in N Carolina. Her parents were the founding members of a customs theater that has since grown into a thriving regional theater.  Freda was involved in theater in loftier school and college at North Carolina State University while pursuing a degree in Marketing and Public Relations.  Subsequently taking a hiatus for many years, Freda joined Lyric Theatre Company in 1998 and has never looked back.  In that time, she has performed on phase with Lyric, Co-Produced, has many production credits and has worked on every coiffure except Promotions and Hair.  She has Stage Managed 15 shows for Lyric, including Mary Poppins and Titanic, where she got to sink a ship on the Flynn Centre stage every dark.  Freda recently assistant directed Lyric Theatre's product of 9 to 5, the Musical and hopes to direct for Lyric in the next ii years.  She served two six twelvemonth terms on the Board of Directors (Board Chair, Vice Chair, Secretarial assistant, Development Chair) In addition to her volunteer activities with Lyric Theatre, she also donates fourth dimension to the Vermont Lake Monsters every bit a host family.

Founding Manager - Don Hirsch Design Studio, LLC. Don has been involved in the art of pattern for more than than thirty years in a career centered on the importance of creating and preserving performance spaces. Don is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, and lectures extensively on performing arts center design, historic theatre restoration, and on the business of amusement.

Jeremy Holm

Thespian / Educator

Jeremy Holm is best known for portraying 'Agent Nathan Green' on  the Gold Globe© nominated Netflix series "Business firm of Cards" and every bit 'Mr. Sutherland' on the breakout USA series "Mr. Robot."

Jeremy was raised in the Rocky Mountains where he received a B.A. from Colorado State Academy, and later earned an M.F.A from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
